TDN members,
My name is Miguel Ferrero and I joined the Western Sydney Community Forum in June 2008 as training and development officer. One of my current roles is to convene and resource the Training Directions Network (TDN).
The aim of the Training Directions Network is to bring together training providers and interested workers in Western Sydney to discuss and identify current cross-sectorial strategies to meet the training needs of community based organisations.
On August 12 we met to identify workforce issues among them the role of technology in the NGO sector. As part of that proces and to encourage the use of this new techonology, I have set up this blog for the network to continue the conversation.
Once again, welcome and start blogging.

Well done Miguel :)
Good on you Miguel! Blogging is fun once you get the hang of it...and I'm yet to get the hang of it :)
Hi Miguel and everyone - firstly thanks Miguel for setting this up - blogs are great - its just that trick of incorporating this into our crowded schedules etc and making them part of our everyday practice (at least that is my struggle!).
DoCS NGO Training Program is going to be dipping its toe into webinars and a wiki (All focussed on the Good Practice Guidelines) in October - am wondering if anyone has any experience / suggestions re these formats with community sector NGO's - or alternatively if you would like to observe how they go - let me know. Our sense of the sector is that there are portions of the sector that are quite ready and able for these type of learning formats (definitely not everyone yet) so we would be interested in other people's experiences.
Thanks
David.
